BARTON, William Donald, age 90, passed away on December 25, 2013 at Centennial Medical Center in Ashland City, TN. He is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Barton and his parents, Charles Oscar Barton and Cora Idell Bobbitt Barton. He is survived by his loving children, son Steven Barton; his daughter, Elaine (Larry) Humphrey; his beloved grandchildren, Paul Barton, Karen (Kendall) Neal, Ross (Amanda) Barton, Sundy (John, Sr.) MacKorell; his great grandchildren, Paige, Dylan, Kayla, John Jr., Landon and Ava; and a host of loving cousins. Mr. Barton was a retired Assistant Chief of Police for Metro Nashville. Mr. Barton was a WWII veteran with Patton's 3rd Army and a Master Mason. He was a member of Bethel Free Will Baptist Church and attended Hendersonville Free Will Baptist Church. Funeral service will be Saturday, December 28, 2013 at 11am in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home with Brother Mike Dankson and Brother Terry Forrest officiating. Visitation with the family will be Friday, December 27 from 2:30pm to 7pm with a Masonic Service at 7:30pm and Saturday, December 28 from 9am until service hour of 11am. He will be laid to rest in the Neptune Smith Cemetery in Ashland City, TN, next to his loving wife. Pallbearers will be Ralph Bobbitt, Wade Bobbitt, Leo Davis, Howard Skipworth, John MacKorell, Sr., Kendall Neal, Ross Barton and Jason Humphrey. CHEATHAM COUNTY FUNERAL HOME in charge of arrangements.
