WILLIE "ESTELLE" CHANDLER, age 88, passed away on Friday, October 7, 2016, at Hillcrest HealthCare Center in Ashland City, Tennessee. Estelle was born in Benton County, Tennessee, on October 1, 1928, to Fred Woodard and James Avis Bailey Woodard. Estelle formerly worked as a cafeteria baker for Calumet Elementary School and the high school in Gary, Indiana. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, William Wallace Chandler; brother, Ford Woodard and sister, Lillian Brummit. She is survived by two children: daughter, Linda (Billy) Moore and son, Leland (Joyce) Chandler; 4 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be Tuesday, October 11th at 12noon in Schererville Baptist Church in Schererville, Indiana, with Pastor Tommy McDonnell officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 9th at Cheatham County Funeral Home from 2pm to 4pm and on Tuesday, October 11th at Schererville Baptist Church in Schererville, Indiana, from 10am until service hour of 12noon. She will be laid to rest next to her husband following the service in Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville, Indiana. Serving as pallbearers are Jason Chandler, Nathan Chandler, Robert Chandler, Jerry Hatfield, Norman Harris and Ronald Harris.
