AUSTIN SR, Willie Gene, age 88, passed away on Monday, September 3, 2018 in Chapmansboro, TN. Gene was born in Nashville, Tennessee on March 28, 1930, to the late Benjamin Wesley Austin and Hilda Henning Austin. He was a veteran of the United States Navy as a Seaman for 9 years. He also spent his time as a painter for MTA City Bus Company in Nashville, TN. He was a longtime member of Bethel Free Will Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Thomas Randall Austin and a sister, Dorothy Gail Simpkins. He is survived by a son, Willie Gene Austin, Jr.; daughter, Jennifer Lynn Hollis; brother, James Wesley Austin (Sam); sisters, Helen Frances Nicholson and Patricia Simpkins; 2 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home on Friday, September 7, 2018, at 2 pm with Bro. Terry Forrest and Matt Honeycutt officiating. Burial will be in Bethel FreeWill Baptist Church Cemetery in Ashland City, Tennessee. Visitation will be on Thursday, September 6, 2018 from 4pm-7pm and Friday, September 7, 2018 from 9am until 2 pm.
