William “Bill” Wallace Green, Jr., age 82, of Joelton, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, September 4, 2026, at his home. Born on August 14, 1944, in Nashville, Tennessee, he was the son of the late William Wallace Green, Sr., and Elsie Mai (Baggett) Green. He served in the United States Army and later retired from the Air National Guard. Bill was Chief of Military Police for the 118th at Berry Field and also served as a Vanderbilt police officer. A faithful member of Friendship Free Will Baptist Church in Ashland City, Tennessee, he cherished his wife and family above all else and found joy in preaching the Word of God. Bill is preceded in death by his parents, William and Elsie Green; and sisters, Charlene Brown and JoAnn Hardin. He is survived by his devoted wife, Marilyn (Harris) Green; son, James “Jamie” Walter Green (Barbara); daughters, Tina Johnson (Mike) and Gina Redmon; sister, Alice Faye Bedwell; grandchildren, Andrina Overby (T.J.), Dylan Green (Nevada), Spencer Johnson, Keli Howard (Kaleb), Joseph Hutton, Samuel Hutton (Robin), Elizabeth Cowley (Matt), and Conner Green; and 18 great grandchildren. 

Funeral service will be Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at 10am in the Chapel of Friendship Free Will Baptist Church in Ashland City, Tennessee. Burial will follow with military honors in Friendship Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 8, 2026 at the funeral home from 1pm to 7pm and resume at the church on Wednesday from 9am until service hour of 10am.
