Waylon Dwight Roberts, age 71, passed away at his home on Sunday, January 12, 2020, surrounded by his loving family. Waylon was born in Nashville, Tennessee, on July 12, 1948, to the late Charles Finis Roberts, Sr. and Betty Lou Hayes Roberts. He was a retired brick layer. Waylon was a lover of animals and would take in any stray that came his way. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be greatly missed by all. Waylon is preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Charles "Bud" Roberts, Jr., Valley Hall, Gene Roberts, Mary Williams, Doyle Roberts and Aubrey Roberts. He is survived by his devoted wife of over 54 years, Vickie Williams Roberts; children, Larry (Ray Hicks) Roberts and Tammy (Paul) Potts; granddaughter, Sierra (Dustin) Tidwell; and children by choice, Mason, McKenzie, Malcom, and John Henry McCoy. Funeral service will be Wednesday, January 15, 2020, at 1pm in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home with Ralph Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Williams Family Cemetery in White Bluff, Tennessee. The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, January 14, 2020, from 3pm to 8pm and on Wednesday, January 15, 2020, from 10am to 1pm. Serving as active pallbearers are Mason McDonald, Brance Jenkins, Ronnie McCoy, Wade Reed, Dennis "Goober" Cathey, Buddy Carver, Tony Roberts and Tommy Roberts. Honorary pallbearers are Troy Roberts, Steve Roberts, Tally McDonald and Brandon Cathey.
