Vickie Lee Carney, lovingly known to family and friends, was born on May 16, 1956, and raised in Ashland City, where she lived her entire life. She passed away on December 15, 2025, and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Vickie retired from Acme Boot Company, Equity Group, and then Cheatham County School System, where she was well known for her hard work, dedication, and commitment. Throughout her career, she received multiple awards in recognition of her outstanding service and strong work ethic.
Vickie was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Hubert Carney and Lovie Novella Carney. She was also preceded in death by her siblings: David Franklin Lee, Alrectia Louise Lockhart, Geraldine Carney, Linda Dolores Teasley, and Willie Hugh Lee.
She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved daughter, Kantressa Bell; her grandchildren, Dario Andrean Meeks, Shamarr Lashawn Bell, Eathan Reece Bell, and Ariel Kayla Thompson; and her great-grandchildren, Naomi Faye Thompson and Lydia Raye Hunt.
Vickie is also survived by her brothers and sisters and their spouses: Benetta Jean Bowers (Grant Bowers), Thomas Leon Carney (Quintine Carney), Charlene Bell (Grayling Bell), and Darnell Hubert Carney, along with a host of nieces and nephews who will forever hold her in their hearts.
Vickie was a loving, caring, and God fearing woman who truly loved everyone she encountered. She had a warm heart, a gentle spirit, and a way of making people feel seen and valued. She will be remembered for her kindness, her faith, her strength, and the unconditional love she gave so freely. Her legacy will live on through the many lives she touched and the memories her family will forever hold close.
Funeral service will be Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at 12noon in the Chapel with Pastor Robert Joyner III officiating. Burial will follow in EverRest of Cheatham in Pleasant View, Tennessee. Visitation will be the same day from 10am until the service hour of 12noon.
