Velma O. (Melton) Mort, age 102, of Ashland City, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, January 24, 2025, at Hillcrest Healthcare Center in Ashland City, Tennessee. She was born on October 23, 1922, in Odessa, Texas, to the late Albert Melton and Linnie (Wilkes) Melton. She worked as a hotel receptionist. Velma is preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Linnie Melton; husbands, Jack Dodson and Darrell Mort; daughters, Roxanne Nickel and Lois Jean Dallas; and 10 siblings. She is survived by her son, John Dodson (Viola); daughter, Pat Spalding; 16 grandchildren; and 20 great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Sunday, February 16, 2025, at 2pm at Living Hope Fellowship Church at 1085 Jackson Felts Rd, Joelton, TN 37080, with Brother Gerald Prior officiating.
