Tom Perry Shearon departed this life on November 17, 2015 with his loving wife by his side.
He was born November 2, 1939 to Arthur and Ophelia Shearon in Ashland City, TN. Fondly known by Trucker handle: .38 Special, he grew to be widely respected and loved by all who had the pleasure of meeting him. He attended Cheatham County Elementary, and graduated from Bransford High School in Springfield, TN. His religious roots can be traced back to St Paul AME Church of Ashland City.
He has worked in various industries, most notably State Stove, Ford Motor Company, Shearon Trucking, Ryder, and Western Express Trucking Company. He was a very skilled Truck Driver, and never hesitated to brag about it. Most would agree that he was quite a unique character, and will never be forgotten.
He is preceded in death by his Parents, Older Brother- Edward Shearon, and Twin Brother- Jerry Thomas Shearon.
Those left to cherish his memory includes his wife- Mamie Ozetta of 48 years; children Priscilena Shearon, Michael Shearon, Vanda Shearon, and Vanessa Shearon. 3 grandchildren: Erica Frednetta Jenkins, Gracious "Rosie" Shearon, and Taylor Shearon. He is survived by sisters Pearl Williams, Ophelia "Dimple" Williams, Patricia Shearon, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and devoted friend Craig Rickard.
Funeral service will be Sunday, November 22, 2015, at 1pm in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home with Joe T. Southhall officiating. Friends may call on Saturday, November 21, 2015, from 4pm to 6pm. Mr. Shearon will be laid to rest in EverRest of Cheatham, LLC, in Pleasant View, Tennessee, following the service.
