HAMPTON, Thomas E., age 89, passed away on December 26, 2012. Mr. Hampton was a member of Ashland City First Baptist Church, a WWII Army Veteran, and retired from the United States Postal Service. He is preceded in death by his parents, Bynum Gardner Hampton, Sr., and Margret Clement Hampton; wife, Brenda Hudgens Hampton; sisters, Edith Howell and Margret Britton; and brother, Bynum G. Hampton, Jr. He is survived by his sons, Gerry (Kathy) Hampton; John (Karen) Hampton; Jimmy (Shelly) Hampton and Todd (Stacy) Ford; daughters, Jackie Hampton and Tammy Ford Reed; sisters, Norma (David) Myers and Frances Graham; grandchildren, Jennifer (Rocky) Peterson, Becky (Bill) Hayes, Halie Hampton, Hannah Hampton, Taylor Ford, Celeste Ford, Hope Reed, and Jessica Hampton; 7 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. Funeral service will be Sunday, December 30, 2012, at 2pm in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home with Brother Leon Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in Ever Rest Memorial Gardens in Pleasant View, TN. Serving as pallbearers will be Steve Bowman, Timmy Jennette, Barney Hicks, Chris Milom, Donnie Stevanus and Brent Freeman. Honorary pallbearers are Steven Stratton and all past employees of Stratton's Drive-In. Visitation with the family will be Friday, December 28th from 5pm to 8pm and on Saturday from 10am until 6pm and on Sunday from 12noon until funeral hour of 2pm.
