Obituary

STEVE HUNT WALKER, age 63, passed away at the Residence at Alive Hospice on Friday, May 19, 2017. Steve was born on March 20, 1954, in Nashville, Tennessee, to the late Lonnie Bernard Walker and Ruby Elizabeth Hunt Walker. He was a graduate of Cheatham County High School Class of 1972 and a graduate of Austin Peay State University Class of 1979. While at APSU, he was a proud member of the Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity. Steve worked as a County Government Consultant, University of Tennessee, County Technical Assistance Service, Institute for Public Service. He was a loving husband for 27 years to Lorie Musser Walker and a proud father to his two daughters, Lizzie and Torie.
Steve is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jerry and Randy Walker; sister, Judy Walker, and beloved aunt, Louise Hunt Shearon. He is survived by his wife, Lorie Musser Walker; daughters, Elizabeth "Lizzie" Anne Walker and Victoria "Torie" Louise Walker; sister, Gloria Walker Hunter; niece, Dawn (Gary) Hunter Binkley; nephew, Scott (P.J.) Hunter; great-nieces, Lauren and Grace Binkley; and great-nephew, Silas Hunter.
Funeral service will be Monday, May 22, 2017, at 2pm in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home with Brother Terry Forrest officiating. Patrick Smith will give the eulogy. Burial will follow in Hunt Cemetery in Ashland City, Tennessee. The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 21, 2017, from 2pm to 8pm and on Monday, May 22nd from 11am until service hour of 2pm. Serving as pallbearers are Scott Hunter, Gary Binkley, Patrick Smith, Steve Smith, Darryl Lovell, Jimmy Harden. Honorary pallbearers are his great-nephew, Silas Hunter; his brothers in heart: Gary Hayes, Marty Spears, Ben Rodgers, John Pelham, Mike Garland, Mike Malone, Bob Schettler, and Wesley Robinson.
