Today the Smiley family sets a marker in Felts Cemetery in memory of their beloved
husband, father, and grandfather, Stephen (Steve) G. Smiley. Steve passed from this
Life December 27, 2023 from health issues related to dementia. He was 90 years old.

Steve was born in Tucson, AZ to The Reverend Glenn E. Smiley and Helen McGee Smiley.
Rev. Smiley was selected for pastorship in Redlands, CA and the family relocated to
Redlands, CA, where Steve spent his school years.

Steve served in the U.S. Army, stationed in South Korea shortly after the war. He spent 2
years at this post. Upon returning home he attended college in Nyack, NY and L.A. ,CA
graduating from Los Angeles City College. Steve entered the construction field and spent
his career as an asphalt paving contractor in Southern California.

After retiring and moving to Ashland City, Steve and his wife, Patsy, traveled extensively,
visiting all 50 states, over 50 countries, and 5 continents. He never tired of submerging
himself in the local cultures he experienced.

Steve is preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Patricia Smiley Kong, and a brother,
Louis Smiley. His wife of 49 years, Patsy Smith Smiley, his daughter, Charlotte Lynn Smiley,
and his granddaughter, Savannah Lynn Smiley-Smith, continue to enjoy and celebrate
Steve's life. A life well lived.
