CANNON, Shirley C., age 79, passed away on Monday, October 7, 2013, at her home. She is preceded in death by her parents, Orley Dexter Howell and Stella Lou Cunningham Howell. She is survived by her husband, Willie Ray Cannon; son, Mark (Nancy) Cannon; daughter, Melinda (Keith) Newell; grandchildren, Bryant Newell, Derek Cannon and Amanda Cannon; sister, Marlene (John) Newland. Funeral service will be Wednesday, October 9, 2013, at 11am in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home with Brother Randy Corn officiating. Burial will follow in the Felts Cemetery in Ashland City, TN. Serving as pallbearers will be Bruce Newland Sr., Rickey Thomas, Jack Bates, Johnny Langston, Carl Evans, Chris Winters, Adam Lyles, and Matt Johns. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday, October 8, 2013, from 3pm to 8pm and on Wednesday from 9am until service hour of 11am.
