Obituary

HUNTER, Sherry Gupton, age 78, passed away on Sunday, November 16, 2014. She was born in Montgomery County, Tennessee, on May 12, 1936, to Arthur Linus Gupton and Buna Nicholson Gupton. Sherry was a member of the Ashland City United Methodist Church for many years. Sherry was an excellent cook. She loved her church, her family, enjoyed playing bridge with her friends, and enjoyed going to Tennessee Walking Horse shows. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dempsey Hunter; and her son, Dean Hunter. She is survived by her son, Reginald Hunter; daughter, Sheila Hunter Bullington (Ramsey); and granddaughter, Courtney Hunter. Funeral service will be Thursday, November 20, 2014, at 11am in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home with Rev. Loyd Mabry and Rev. Pete Furnier officiating. Burial will follow in Head's Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery in Cedar Hill, TN. Serving as pallbearers will be Roger Binkley, Mickey Smith, Jim Witcher, Mark Burney, Harold Lovell, and Jimmy Winters. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday, November 19, 2014, from 3pm to 8pm and on Thursday from 9am until service hour of 11am.
