Sarah Elizabeth Reed Mays, age 94, of Ashland City, TN, passed away at Hillcrest Healthcare Center in Ashland City on Monday, September 6, 2021. Sarah was born in Ashland City, TN, on October 25, 1926, to the late Burgess White Reed and Eddie Lee Harris Reed.

Sarah was a member of the Crossroads Church of God of Prophecy where she taught Sunday School for many years. She was a graduate of the Cheatham County High School and retired secretary of the Circuit Court Clerk, Dolores Moulton.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband of 59 years George Ashley Mays Jr., infant son Timothy Mays; sister Jennie Harris; granddaughter Amanda Rainey; and step-grandson Robert Reed.

She is survived by her sons Jerry Mays; Alan Mays (Ruth); Jack Mays (Lori); and daughter Carole Rainey (Eddie); brother Willard Reed; sister Joyce Holyfield (John); 9 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; several nieces and nephews.

Sarah loved people; she had a passion for sewing and quilting and gardening. Her family was her greatest treasure.

Funeral service will be Friday, September 10, 2021 at 1pm in the chapel of the Crossroads Church of God of Prophecy in White Bluff, TN. Burial will follow in the Reed Cemetery in Ashland City, TN. Visitation will be Thursday September 9th at the church from 4pm to 8pm and on Friday at the church from 10am until service hour of 1pm. Reverends Gary Riley and Richard Neal will be officiating.
