Samuel "Ricky" Richard Barnes, Sr., age 64, passed away on August 16, 2021, in St. Thomas MidTown in Nashville, Tennessee. Ricky was born in Nashville, Tennessee on April 30, 1957, to the late Lonnie and Billie Jean (Goodman) Barnes. He was a former trailer mechanic with U-Haul for 30 years. Ricky is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Ruby (Lackey) Barnes; sons, Ricky (April) Barnes, Jr., Travis Wayne (Rebekah) Barnes; brothers, Ronald Wayne (Nannette) Barnes, Lonnie Ray Barnes, and Scott (Tonya) Barnes; sister, Lonna Jean "Sissy" Gibbs; grandchildren, Aiden, Ellie and Samuel Joseph Barnes; sister-in-law, Merrie Fay Lackey, her daughter, Jaylan Cousin and her granddaughter, Myanna; and companions, Bucky and Thor. Funeral service will be Friday, August 20, 2021, at 1pm in the chapel with Mike Stuart officiating. Burial will follow in Cowden Cemetery in Nashville, Tennessee. Visitation will be Thursday, August 19th, from 3pm to 7pm and on Friday, August 20th, from 10am until service hour of 1pm.
