Obituary

Ruth Elizabeth Balthrop Boyd, age 101, departed this life on January 2, 2016. She was preceded in death by her parents James Madison and Sophie Bell Knox Balthrop, husband Howard Harris Boyd, brothers Jessie and Carl Balthrop, sisters, Elsie Morris and Earlene Shearron, nieces Faye Shearron, Maxine and Billie J. Morris, and Dorothy Jean Morris, and nephews Jerry Breedlove and Bobby Balthrop. She is survived by her sister Ersel Breedlove, sister-in-law Mable Balthrop, nieces Gayle Majors, Betty Farmer, Hilda Ford, Bonna Redicar, and Carrie Benton, nephew, Chad Breedlove; special in-laws, Frances Breedlove and Phil Majors, and several great-nieces and great-nephews. Ruth had no children but loved her family dearly She was a member of Woodmont Baptist Church for many years and a Volunteer Lady for Baptist Hospital in Nashville. Visitation will be held on January 7, 2016, from 11am-1pm with service to follow at 1pm at Cheatham County Funeral Home, with Dr. Phil Majors officiating. Burial will follow in the Mallory Methodist Church Cemetery in Thomasville, Tennessee.
