Roy Foster Broadway, age 75, of Ashland City, Tennessee, went to be with our Lord on Monday, November 13, 2023. He was born in Nashville, Tennessee, on October 23, 1948, to the late Jessie Mabron and Minnie Pearl (Johnson) Broadway. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jessie and Minnie; and brother, Troy Broadway. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Ann (Moss) Broadway; son, Stephen Todd Broadway; daughter, Stephanie Renee Broadway; sister, Ernestine (Mitchell) Baird; brother, Albert Mitchell; great grandsons, Nik Dixon and Leelynn Taylor; many nieces and nephews; and best friend and most loyal companion, his beloved dog Max. Roy was raised in West Nashville and attended Cohn High School. There he met his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Phyllis, who became his devoted wife of over 56 years. He was a supervisor for 27 years with South Central Bell before taking early retirement. He then worked for MedInsights workers' compensation insurance. He was an avid football fan who loved watching college and pro football, especially his beloved Tennessee Titans. Roy was a devoted husband and father who loved his family more than life. He was a beautiful soul who always looked on the bright side of life and was always willing to give an encouraging word, smile, or joke if needed. He will be dearly missed by all that knew him! Funeral service will be Saturday, November 18, 2023, at 1pm in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home with Pastor Jason Bell officiating. Burial will follow in EverRest of Cheatham in Pleasant View, Tennessee. Visitation will be the same day from 11am until the service hour of 1pm.
