THORNTON, Ronald Thomas "Ronny", age 61, passed away on April 22, 2015. He was born on September 28, 1953, in Nashville, Tennessee, to James Thornton and Beatrice Barnes Thornton. Ronny lived in the Scottsboro Community and was a member of the Scottsboro First Baptist Church. He worked for the Metro Fire Department as a mechanic. He is preceded in death by his father, James Thornton; two sons, Jason and Joshua Thornton; and in-laws, Fieldon and Betty Boyd. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Ronda (Boyd) Thornton; brothers, Donnie (Diane) Thornton and Randy (Caren) Thornton; sister, Montie (Mike) Langley; sisters and brothers-in-law, Phyllis and Tommy Lewis, Reba and Richard Buhler and Russell and Sherry Boyd; best furry friend, Tiny; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral service will be Saturday, April 25, 2015, at 11am in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home with Brother Dewey Keys officiating. Visitation with the family will be Friday, April 24, 2015, from 3pm to 7pm and on Saturday from 9am until service hour of 11am. Burial will be in Cowden Cemetery in Nashville, Tennessee. Serving as pallbearers will be Andy Langley, Ronnie Rhodes, Billy Harris, William Eslick, Steven Lewis and James Thornton. Honorary pallbearer is William McCloud.
