Obituary

Rodney Lee Fickett, age 70, of Springfield, Tennessee, passed away at his home on Saturday, December 30, 2023. He was born on May 23, 1953, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, to the late Herbert Fickett and Judith (Brock) Fickett and was raised in Alabama. He served in the United States Marine Corps. He worked for A.O. Smith as a machinist. Rodney is preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Judith Fickett; brother, Bill Fickett; sister, Charlene Logan; step-son, Jeff Long; and step-daughter, Katrina Lucie. He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Yola Fickett; daughter, Julie Fickett; step-son, Jimmy Ray (Trena); step-daughters, Stacey Kelley, Melody Hudson (Monkey), and Rachel Dutton (Chris); sister, Brenda Jacobson; grandchildren, Zander, Ethan, Illie, Dalton, Hunter, Kayla, Anna, Brandy, and Matt; numerous great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and many more friends and extended family members. Funeral service will be Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at 7pm in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home. Visitation will be the same day from 2pm to 7pm. Burial will follow in Miller's Chapel Cemetery at 4938 Co. Road 445, Fort Payne, Alabama, on Friday, January 5, 2024, at 11am.
