Rob Roy Nichols, 84, of Ashland City, departed this life on Sunday afternoon, May 25, 2025, in Nashville, Tennessee.
He was born June 6, 1940, in Clarksville to the late Arden W. Nichols and Gladys Nichols. He is also preceded in death by his brother, Arden Nichols, Jr. and sister, Loretta Houdeshell.
Rob was in the U.S. Army, serving his country for two years. He worked for several years as a branch manager at SunTrust Bank as well as a revenue officer for the State of Tennessee. Before retirement, he worked in public works for the Town of Ashland City. He was a beloved member of United Church of God.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 61 years, Barbara (Bowker) Nichols; sons, Paul Nichols (Connie) and Wendell Nichols (Daina); daughter, Angie Duncan (John); brother, Eddie Nichols, Sr.; sister, Judy Ryan; grandchildren, Jeffrey Duncan (Sara Jo), Amber Pennington (Gordon), Amy Duncan, Michael Nichols (Danielle), Steven Duncan (Danielle), and Randy Nichols (Kortney); great grandchildren, Ryder, Tatum, Isla, Grant, Wesley, Luke, Josiah, Piper, Haddie, and Elowen.
Funeral service will be Friday, May 30, 2025, at 1pm in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home with John Paul Jones officiating. Burial will follow at EverRest of Cheatham, LLC in Pleasant View, Tennessee with military honors. The visitation will be Thursday, May 29, 2025, from 4pm-7pm and Friday, May 30, 2025, from 10am til the service hour of 1pm. Serving as active pallbearers will be Jeffrey Duncan, Michael Nichols, Steven Duncan, Randy Nichols, Gordon Pennington, and Eddie J. Nichols.
