Rita Kay Harris, age 73, passed away on April 1, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. Kay was born in Nashville, Tennessee, on February 22, 1949. She was a graduate of Charlotte High School and attended Austin Peay State University. Kay worked for Third National Bank in central files. She was preceded in death by her father, Woodrow "Buck" Byrns Harris; grandparents, Charlie and Irene (Scott) Harris and J.H. and Sarepta (Powers) Loftin; and uncle, Fred H. Loftin. She is survived by her mother, Velma (Loftin) Harris; brothers, Keith Byrns Harris and Kevin Ray Harris; and cousins, Pam Moore and Linda Roberts. Funeral service will be Sunday, April 3, 2022, at 3pm in the Sanctuary of Mt. Liberty Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Charlotte, Tennessee, with Dr. Neil Spence and Reverend Kim Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Liberty Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, April 3rd, from 1pm to 3pm at the church. Serving as active pallbearers will be Michael Ward, Chad Moore, Bob Kuhlman, David Stone, Chuck Black, Mark Lamberth, Johnny Palmore and Brance Jenkins. Honorary pallbearers are Stacy "Bubba" Duke, Donald Kuhlman, Christian Ward, and B.J. Wilkerson. In lieu of flowers, donations in Kay's memory may be made to the Mt. Liberty Cemetery Fund.
