Richard Henry Dittman, age 87, of Ashland City, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, May 15, 2021. Richard was born on February 3, 1934 in Boyden, Iowa, to Henry Dittman and Anna Jungers Dittman. He was a member of St. Martha's Catholic Church in Ashland City. Richard was a retired U.S. Marine Corps Veteran who served two tours in Vietnam. He then worked as a machinist for U.S. Tobacco Company under Phillip Morris. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Robert and Francis Dittman; sisters, Virginia Holmes, Sister Mary Ruth Dittman, Geraldine Freeman, Rose Duncan, and JoAnn Robson. He is survived by his wife of sixty-two years, Mary Eckroat Dittman; sons, Paul Dittman and James Dittman; daughter, Angela Taber (Gary); sister, Mary Ellen Dittman; grandchildren, Kayla Dittman, Bryan Dittman, Sarah Dittman, Gregory Dittman, Michael Dittman, Riley Dittman, David Dittman, and George Taber; and his great-grandchild, Riley Dittman. Funeral Service will be Thursday, May 20, 2021 at 1pm in the chapel with Father Ben Butler officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 10am until the service hour of 1pm. Burial will be Friday, May 21, 2021, at 10am with Reverend Gary Taber officiating, at Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery in Nashville, Tennessee.
