Richard "Rick" Bradley Young, age 71, passed away on December 13, 2025 while at The Residence at Alive Hospice in Nashville, Tennessee. He was born on April 3, 1954, in Nashville at the old Baptist Hospital very near the location of his passing.
Rick was a graduate of Cheatham County Central High School class of 1972. He was a retired long distance truck driver and a veteran of the United States Air Force. He also previously served as an EMT in Nashville. For many years Rick enjoyed competitive horse riding, snow skiing, repelling, and fast cars. He also was a big supporter of The University of Tennessee athletics. Rick was a past member of 14th Tennessee Infantry Civil War Re-enactment Group which is the regiment his great-great grandfather served in as part of the Army of Northern Virginia.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Faye Lockert McDonald and his loving grandparents William Bradley "Jake" Lockert and Hazel Perry Lockert and chosen family member, Malissa Daniel. He is survived by his brothers Chris Young (Lisa) of Venice, Florida and Tony Young of Ashland City and a sister, Heather Beal (Robbie) of Columbia, Tennessee as well as nieces Mallory Bolen (Aaron) and Carly Witt (Jason) and nephew Antonio Beal. He has a host of loving cousins from both the Lockert and Perry families.
Rick was a devout Christian who loved the Lord Jesus Christ with all his heart. A memorial service with inurnment will be held Saturday, March 28 2026, at 10am in the Lockert Family Cemetery, 1404 Saddle Tree Road (Ashland City, Tennessee) located in Lockertsville, Tennessee. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to The Residence at Alive Hospice. Cheatham County Funeral Home oversees arrangements.
