Raymond L. Chester, age 46, passed away on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee, surrounded by his family. Raymond was born April 13, 1977, in Clarksville, Tennessee, to Timothy L. and Fay Annette (Murphy) Chester. He was a graduate of Cheatham County Central High School Class of 1996 where he played basketball. Raymond loved all sports and especially basketball and football. His favorite teams were the Kentucky Wildcats and Chicago Bears. He had many nicknames but will be remembered as Coach Ray Ray to his soccer and basketball teams. He loved Halloween and Christmas and especially the decorating. He is preceded in death by his brother and best friend Patrick Chester. He is survived by his wife Joyce Chester; his parents, Timmy and Annette Chester; and his children, A. J. and Alexander Haggard. A celebration of life will be Saturday, October 21, 2023, at 4pm at Cheatham County Funeral Home with Wanda Jordan officiating. Visitation will be before the service from 2pm to 4pm.
Please note: For Raymond's service his wish was for everyone to be in comfortable attire preferably a "Halloween" t-shirt. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Coach Ray Ray Soccer Fund.
