Raymond Phillip Binkley, age 84, of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away at McKendree Village on Tuesday, June 13, 2023. He was born in Cheatham County, Tennessee, on July 9, 1938, to the late Ernest A. Binkley and Ruby Irene Binkley. He served in the United States Army and was a retired entrepreneur in the food and beverage industry. Ray loved to be the center of attention and was known for his great personality. He loved to travel and raced for a time at Nashville Speedway in his 007 racecar. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Irene Binkley; daughter, Debbie Highers; and ex-wife, Gloria Gentry. Ray is survived by his son, Phil Binkley, Jr.; sisters, Janet Tabor, Della Ruth Spall, Carole Smith, and Susie Standifer; grandchildren, Ashley Binkley and Taylor Binkley; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Thursday, June 15, 2023, from 11am until 1pm in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home.
