Polly McLaughlin England was born on March 13, 1918, and passed into the next life on June 11, 2012, at the age of 94. Born in Cheatham County, TN, she lived most of her adult life in Wilmington, NC. She and her husband, Vance England, moved there in 1940, and after his death in 1950, she remained there to raise her children. Polly worked at Mojud Lingerie Factory, Century Mills, and later at DuPont, until she retired. Following retirement, she volunteered at Cape Fear Memorial Hospital several days a week, and was heavily involved in making puppets for the children in the hospital.

Mrs. England was one of the founding members of the Church of Christ in Wilmington, and was very active in the missions and relief efforts of the Pine Valley Church of Christ. She moved to Kennesaw, GA, in 2002 to live with her daughter, Alice England Robertson, and while there, attended the East Cobb Church of Christ.

Mrs. England was pre-deceased by her husband, Vance England, and two of her children, Geraldine England and Harold Dean England. She is survived by one daughter, Alice England Robertson, of Kennesaw, GA. She also was pre-deceased by one grandson, Mitchum Brent England, of White Bluff, TN. She is survived by one grandson, Vance Dean England, of White Bluff, and three grand-daughters: Brook Robertson McKelvey of Mt. Juliet, TN; Heather Robertson Fortner of Acworth, GA; and Shauna Robertson Lantz of Powder Springs, GA. The joy of Polly's life was the four great-grandchildren that she was blessed to enjoy.
