Phillip Wayne Denton, Jr., age 68, of Charlotte, Tennessee, passed away on Thursday, November 5, 2026, at TriStar Horizon Medical Center in Dickson, Tennessee. He was born on November 1, 1958, in Nashville, Tennessee, to the late Phillip Wayne Denton, Sr., and Kathy (Barnes) Blythe. He graduated Cheatham County High School Class of 1977. He worked as a heavy equipment operator. Wanye was a faithful friend who loved to have a good time. He loved animals, especially mules, horses, and his chickens. Wayne is preceded in death by his parents, Phillip Denton, Sr., and Kathy Blythe. He is survived by his son, Michael Denton (Kaitlyn); daughter, Katherine Denton; granddaughter, Savanna Denton; beloved Aunt, Christine Hamblen; special friend, Becky Dreaden; a host of friends and family; and dear pet, Benji. Funeral service will be Tuesday, November 10, 2026, at 1pm in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home with Demetra O’Neal officiating. Burial will follow in EverRest of Cheatham in Pleasant View, Tennessee. Visitation will be the same day from 10am until the service hour of 1pm. Serving as pallbearers will be Brent Weatherspoon, Dan Hooper, Brian Nicholson, Lamont Collier, Jimmy Groves, and Scotty Bolton.
