Paul Jeffrey Harris, age 48, departed this life April 17, 2013, after a long and courageous battle with a liver transplant and then cancer. He is preceded in death by father Paul L. Harris. He is survived by devoted mother, Saundra Sevier Richey and stepfather Roy Richey; loving wife, Paula Presson Harris; sons, Drake, Nick, Josh and Joey, and daughter, Kayla; stepsister, Christy (Kyle) Schrage; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, as well as his Presson family of in-laws. He was born in Nashville, TN, educated at Grassland School in Franklin, TN, Sheffield High School in Sheffield, AL, where he was an outstanding football player, and the University of N. Alabama. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves at Ft. Campbell, KY, and won the Abrams Award. He was employed by Heritage Bank in Kentucky and Tennessee as Vice President of Mortgage. He was Assistant Boy Scout Leader for Troop 408 and Little League Baseball Coach and Commissioner. Paul's greatest joy was spending time with his wife and children, enjoying sports, Boy Scouts, fishing, canoeing and other activities. He is dearly loved and greatly missed, but is now at Peace in Heaven. Mr. Harris chose cremation and a Celebration of His Life will be held in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home on Sunday, April 21, 2013, at 4pm with Bro. Jerry Gaw officiating. Visitation with the family will be on Sunday from 2pm to 4pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ashland City Boy Scout Troop #408 or to the family at any Heritage Bank.
