Obituary

Patricia "Patty" Ann (Biggs) Ward, 72, returned to her heavenly home on Saturday, December 6, 2014 after a battle with Ovarian Cancer. Her devotion to her family and her belief in God supported her in her struggle and ultimately gave her peace.
Patty was born to the late Leo Biggs and Dorothy Biggs Krantz in Nashville, TN on October 19, 1942. She was immersed in the Church of Christ community that would be her lifelong support from an early age. She attended Cumberland High School and graduated in 1960 with accolades from being Secretary of her senior class, "Class Favorite" of her senior class, "Most Friendly" of her senior class, band of the color guard for two years, chorus for two years, forensics for one year, librarian assistant club for two years, cheerleader 11th and 12th grade, pep club her junior year, Y-Teen Club junior and senior year, student council her senior year, also Clinic Bowl Queen her senior year. She was also known for her wonderful personality, beautiful smile and her love for life.
Patty was blessed with a large and loving family. Patty raised her four children, Rhonda Denise, Tammy Lynn, Sherrye Ann and James Thomas with patience, discipline and humility. From the very beginning, she dedicated her children to God and encouraged them to always lean unto the Lord as he would direct their paths.
Patty worked at Nashville Wire Products for 31 years after her youngest child, James Thomas Ward, Jr. started Kindergarten. She looked forward to work each day as her quest in life was to help others and be a positive influence to all.
In addition to her parents, Patty is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Andrew and Blanche Starkey; paternal grandparents, Ruben and Ommie Biggs; and brothers, Buddy Biggs and John "Bubba" Krantz. Patty is survived by her daughters, Rhonda Denise Jesse, Tammy Lynn Davis (Tom Davis), Sherrye Ann Strech; her son, James Thomas Ward, Jr. (Rhonda Ward); her grandchildren Haelyn McKenna, Morgan McKenna, James Ward III, Tyler Ward, Jennifer Delk, Lisha Wiley, April Brasher , Craig Asberry; eight great grandchildren; her sisters, Wanda Fann (Roy Fann), Anita Woodard (Andy Woodard), Faye Mangrum, Phyllis Hazelwood (Tom Hazelwood); sister-in-law, Suzie Krantz, and many nieces and nephews that she adored.
Funeral service will be Wednesday, December 10, 2014, at 12noon in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home with Brother Ronnie Webb officiating. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday, December 9, 2014, from 11am until 7pm and on Wednesday from 10am until service hour of 12noon.
