HARRIS, Obe, age 96, passed away at Hillcrest Healthcare Center in Ashland City, TN, on Friday, December 13, 2013. She is preceded in death by her parents, James Erastus Long and Minnie Belle Baker Long; husband of 65 years, William Floyd Harris, Jr.; sons: James Edward, Jimmy Don and Howard Harris; many brothers and one sister; and grandchildren: Tracy Ladon Harris, Stanley Wayne Harris and Melissa Diane Clemons. She is survived by her son, Johnny (Ruby) Harris; daughters, Marilyn (Billy) Green, Carolyn (Charlie) Knight, Betty Pentecost, and Jean Frances (Jim) Lukemire; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Harris was a member of Friendship FreeWill Baptist Church teaching Sunday School until she was 92. She was a homemaker for her loving family. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 17, 2013, at 2pm in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home with Brother Cecil Boswell and Brother Joe Bogle officiating. Burial will follow in the Friendship FreeWill Baptist Church Cemetery with grandchildren serving as pallbearers. Visitation with the family will be Sunday from 3pm to 7pm; Monday from 1pm to 7pm and on Tuesday from 12noon until service hour of 2pm.
