NANCY SUE SMITH, age 80, passed away at Hillcrest Healthcare Center in Ashland City, Tennessee, on Friday, June 16, 2017. Nancy was born in Nashville, Tennessee on January 26, 1937, to the late William Warnack and Myrtle Lee Herrell Warnack. Nancy attended Friendship Pentecostal Church in Nashville, Tennessee, and was a retired school patrol for Metro Schools, particularly Wade Elementary School. She is preceded in death by her parents; her son, Charles "Charlie" Henry Smith; brother, Emerson "Bubba" M. Gossett, Jr.; and sister, Joyce Carnell. She is survived by her loving husband, Lawrence Alton Smith; two sons, Lawrence Everett (Betty) Smith and James Ronald Smith; 1 daughter, Melinda Smith (Michael) Hester; daughter-in-law, Patty Smith; sister, Bobbie Jean (Noah) Pardue; 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be Tuesday, June 20, 2017, at 1pm in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home with Pastor Billy Shoulders officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Goodlettsville, Tennessee. Visitation with the family will be Monday, June 19th from 2pm to 8pm and on Tuesday, June 20th, from 10am until service hour of 1pm.
