MODENE FORBES, age 84, passed away on Wednesday, May 3, 2017. She was born on August 18, 1932, in Cheatham County, Tennessee, to the late Thomas Earl Balthrop and Arthetta Evans Balthrop. Modene worked as a housewife and mother. She is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Pamela June Forbes; brothers, Ronnie, Thomas, Jackie, Jimmy Galen and Ray Balthrop; and granddaughter, Treva Nicole Forbes. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Willard Forbes; her son, Jerry (Sherry) Forbes; brothers, Wayne Balthrop, Owen (Stephanie) Balthrop, and Travis (Cathy) Balthrop; and a host of nieces and nephews. Modene will be remembered for her large smile and happy personality. Funeral service will be Saturday, May 6, 2017, at 2pm in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home with Brother Gene Parton officiating. Burial will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery in Ashland City, Tennessee. The family will receive friends on Friday, May 5th from 4pm to 8pm and on Saturday, May 6th from 12noon until service hour of 2pm.
