Mildred (Miles) Hampton, age 97, of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at Hillcrest Healthcare Center in Ashland City, Tennessee. She was born on February 15, 1928, in Dickson County, Tennessee, to the late William Miles and Florence (Sensing) Miles. Mildred loved the Lord more than a cat loves pie and was a lifelong member of East Nashville Free Will Baptist Church, where she sang in the church choir. She worked in retail for over 40 years. She adored flowers and was very proud of her garden. Mildred was a devoted mother and loved her family. She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Florence Miles; husband, Roger Hampton; son, David Hampton; granddaughter, Jo Angela Hampton; brother, Leslie Miles; and sisters, Odell Story and Mina Kimbrough. She is survived by her children, Rita Robinson, Dianne Johnson (Denzil), Joe Hampton (Patricia), Winnie Farmer, Donna Brown (James), and Crystal Hodges (Tim); grandchildren, Raye Horn (Jeff), Allen Robinson (Darbi), Quentin Robinson (Joyce), Renee Rauls (Steve), Kimberly Looney (Tim), Ron Perry (Liane), Chris Minchey, Bobby Minchey, Kenny Morton, Nakesha Brown, Jonathan Hampton (Megan), Jessica Graves, and Alan Graves (Brittany); 16 great grandchildren; and several great great grandchildren. Funeral service will be Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at 1pm in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home with Tim Looney and Quentin Robinson officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in Charlotte, Tennessee. Visitation will be Monday, June 16, 2025, from 4pm to 8pm and Tuesday, June 17, 2025, from 11am until the service hour of 1pm. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
