Mikyah Tanner Smith-Kennedy, age 19, of Ashland City, passed away on Friday, August 30, 2024. He was born on September 26, 2004, in Dearborn, Michigan, to Jake Kennedy and Brandi Smith. He was a member of Cheatham County High School Class of 2023. He worked in construction. Mikyah was a loving and caring son, brother, uncle, nephew, grandson, and friend. He liked music, football, and basketball. At a young age, he wanted to be a dancer. He enjoyed hanging out with his friends. He is preceded in death by his mother, Brandi Smith; and grandmother, Cheryl Murdock. He is survived by his father, Jake Kennedy (fiancée, Josephine Eagle); brothers, Christian Smith and Robert James "R.J." Kennedy; sisters, Valerie Smith and Manda Smith; uncle, Neil Kennedy (Jennifer); grandfather, Robert Kennedy; and girlfriend, Zoey. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at 2pm in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home with Pastor Chris Moore officiating. Visitation will be the same day from 12noon until the service hour of 2pm.
