Obituary

MICHAEL LEON SIMPKINS, age 64, passed away on Tuesday, July 11, 2017, at his home in Nashville, Tennessee. He was born on December 19, 1952, in Nashville, Tennessee, to the late E. Ozell Simpkins and Catherine Murphy Simpkins. He was a member of Scottsboro United Methodist Church, a member of the Cumberland High School Class of 1971, a United States Army Veteran and worked and retired as a supervisor and manager for United Record Pressing/CRT. Michael loved white water kayaking, canoeing, and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Ronnie Simpkins. He is survived by his brothers: Jimmy Ozell (Sue) Simpkins, Robert L. (Brenda) Simpkins and Kelly A. (Michelle) Simpkins and sister, Kitty Cathy K. (Jack) Rickard. Funeral service will be Monday, July 17, 2017, at 12noon in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery in Nashville, Tennessee. Visitation with the family will be Sunday, July 16, 2017, from 2pm to 6pm and on Monday before the service from 10am until service hour of 12noon. Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.
