JOHNSON, Michael Ray, age 65, passed away on June 2, 2013, at Hillcrest Health Care Center in Ashland City, TN. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl Ray, Jr., and Nancy Hagewood Johnson. He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Rick and Adrian Johnson, nieces and nephews, Drew, Allison, and Clint Johnson; and his aunt, Joyce Johnson Matlock and family. Michael Ray was a graduate of Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, TN, a retired teacher for the Cheatham County School Board and worked at Stratton's Drive-In in Ashland City for many years. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 5, 2013, at 1pm in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home with Reverend Robert Webster officiating. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday from 4pm to 7pm and on Wednesday from 11am until service hour of 1pm. Burial will follow in the Smith-Neptune Cemetery in Ashland City, TN. Serving as pallbearers will be Drew and Clint Johnson, Johnny and Jeffrey Matlock, Ben Gibbs, and Kip Stratton. Honorary pallbearers: Allison Johnson, Steven Stratton, Otis Nichols, James DeLoach, Steve and Pat Smith, Joe Roberts, Greg Hagewood, Shealea Nichols, Maxey Gilleland, Bill and Lana Davenport, Chris and Phillip LaCrosse, Lonnie Housley, Paula Quigley, Debbie Escue, King Nabors, George Dowlen and his many other friends and relatives that are too many to list.
