Obituary

Metreual "Mimi' Adkisson, age 44, passed to her heavenly home on Monday, November 9, 2020, at her home in Ashland City, Tennessee. Mimi was born in Nashville, Tennessee, on December 4, 1975. Mimi was a member of the graduating Class of 1994 of Cheatham County Central High School. Mimi was a baker and cook for many places and most recently kitchen manager for the Livery Stables in Pleasant View, Tennessee, where she was considered a pillar of the staff. Her cooking talents and beautiful smile will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to experience them. She loved all people more than herself. She was a very spiritual person with a loving heart and caring soul. Mimi is preceded in death by her parents, Clyde Adkisson, Clara Jackson Adkisson Sterling and Kenneth Sterling and her sons, Tino Ponsold and Lee Otis Hamilton. She is survived by her very significant other for 23 years, George Newsome; sons, Quinten Adkisson and Xavier Lee Adkisson; daughters, Tyanna Marie Newsome and Dwanna Newsome; brothers, Terrence Adkisson, Kenny Sterling (Keya) and Maurice Sterling; sister, Sonya Sterling; very devoted nephew, Tyler Adkisson; devoted cousins, Hope, Sabrina, Keneva, April and Heather and all her friends and extended family. A celebration of life will be Saturday, November 14, 2020, at 12 noon in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home with Reverend Frankie Witt, Sr. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion AME Cemetery in Charlotte, Tennessee. Visitation will be Friday, November 13, 2020 from 3pm to 7pm and on Saturday, November 14, 2020 from 11am till hour of service at 12 noon. Active pallbearers are Dewayne Adkisson, Derick Jackson, Edward Nesbitt, Rashard Bell, Tyler Adkisson, Kenneth Sterling and Maurice Sterling. Honorary pallbearers are Clarence Bell, Jr., Japeth Ligon, Ralph Collier, Chester Majors, Kris Whitsey, Kris Johnstone, Jeff Gray, and Tracy Oakley. Flower bearers will be her devoted cousins.
