HODSON, Melvine "Big Mama" Holland, age 77, passed away at her home on Sunday, February 9, 2014. She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Frances Jacobs Holland; husband, Wesley Eugene Hodson; and sisters, Mary Louise Holland and Mildred Webb. She is survived by her daughter, Gena Biggs (Roy); brothers, William (Carolyn) Holland, James (Brenda) Holland, David (Susan) Holland, Richard (Mary Jo) Holland, George (Reoma) Holland; and two grandchildren, Tarron Thomas Biggs and Tashia Marrena Biggs. Big Mama was a Certified Nursing Assistant for nursing homes as well as a caregiver for many children. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 11, 2014, in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home at 2pm with Bart Pemberton and Chris Moore officiating. Visitation with the family will be Monday, February 10, 2014, 11am til 7pm and on Tuesday, February 11, 2014, from 9am til service hour of 2pm. Burial will follow in Felts Cemetery in Ashland City, TN. Serving as pallbearers will be Gary Barnes, Don Johnson, Roy Biggs, Don Hudgens, Norris Hudgens, and Jerry Hudgens.
