Melvin Brassell, age 86, passed to his Heavenly home on December 19, 2019. He was born July 30, 1933, in Batesville, Mississippi, to Spurgeon Brassell and Arnish Tatum Brassell. He attended the public schools. He came to Ashland City, Tennessee, at the age of 17 where he remained until his passing. He worked at the Chevrolet dealership under five owners until he retired. He was a member of New Hope Free Will Baptist Church. If anything would or could be said about Brother Brassell, he was a good man, a good husband and father and grandfather.
He leaves to mourn at his passing, his loving wife of fifty years, Glenda Brassell; his son, Joslin Tatum Brassell, daughters, Arnisha Faye Brassell and Sherry (Raymond) Brent; granddaughter, Pearis LaFaye Brassell; niece and nephew, Anna and Larry Henderson and Danny Henderson; very dear friend, James "Jim" Smith and a host of other grandchildren, nieces and nephews, cousins and lots of other friends.
He is preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters.
After not being able to attend church, his greatest joy was laying in bed singing his gospel songs, praying and reading his bible.
