Marion Nickens, 85, passed away at home on Wednesday, September 23, 2026. Born in Nashville, Tennessee, on April 22, 1941, he was the son of the late James and Hazel (Collins) Nickens. Marion retired from his work as a heavy equipment mechanic for Bobcat and was a former member of New Hope Church of Christ. A loving stepfather, grandfather, and great-grandfather, he will be deeply missed. He is preceded in death by his parents; stepson, Jimmy Reed; brothers, Van Nickens, Buddy Nickens, Archie Nickens; sisters, Barbara Minnis, Lilly Mae Barnes, and Erma “Deuce” Duke. He is survived by his wife, Doris (Dozier) Nickens; step-children, Randall (Mary) Reed, Douglas Reed, and Jackie (Wayne) Harris; brothers, Walter Nickens and Billy (Carolyn) Nickens; grandchildren, Sonny Reed, Jesica Reed, Erica Reed, Justin (Camiren) Harris, and Hannah (Patrick) Lissner; and great-grandchildren, Jordan, Jaxson, Ava, Austin, Brooke, Andrew, Maverick, Caroline, and Dylan. Funeral service will be Saturday, September 26th at 12noon in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home with Donnie Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow in the Dozier Cemetery in Nashville, Tennessee. Visitation will be on Friday, September 25th from 4pm to 7pm and Saturday from 10am until service hour of 12noon.
