Margaret Hampton Simpson, of Charlotte, Tennessee, died on Tuesday, July 24, 2018. She was 88. Margaret was born on August 31, 1929, in Charlotte, Tennessee, to the late Lloyd Marvin Hampton and Freddie Mae Mitchell. She was a graduate of Charlotte High School and worked in retail sales for Washington Manufacturing for over 30 years, as well as Castner Knott and Dillards. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 61 years, James Simpson; brother, Buddy Hampton; and sisters, Ada Bell Binkley, Bobbie Patterson, and Arline Watts. She is survived by her son, Barry (Cindy) Simpson; daughter, Carol (Ray) Costa; grandchildren, Jeremy, Jason, and Brad Simpson; sister, Maureen Spann and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service for Margaret will be Friday, July 27, 2018, at 12 noon in the Mt. Liberty Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Charlotte, Tennessee, with Brother Don Winn and Brother Bill Shouse officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Liberty Cemetery in Charlotte, Tennessee. Visitation will be Thursday, July 26, 2018, at the funeral home from 2pm to 7pm and on Friday, July 27th, at the church from 10am until service hour of 12 noon. Serving as pallbearers will be Jason, Jeremy and Brad Simpson, Kenneth Watts, Phillip and Drew Stafford. Honorary pallbearers are Bobby Lee, Bob Kullman, David Stone, Mike Spann, Russ Sesler, Wade Bone and Jody Gibbs. In lieu of flowers, donations in Margaret's memory may be made to Mt.
