Madolyn Iva Johnson Mitchell, age 90, passed away at her home on Thursday, December 17, 2020, surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Mitchell was born in Cheatham County on June 5, 1930, to the late Phillip Johnson and Nellie Reed Johnson Williams. She was a homemaker to her husband and family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Preceding her in death are her parents, Phillip Johnson, Nellie Reed Johnson Williams; step-father, Morris Williams; brother, Alfred Williams; sisters, Roberta Miller and Vertrese Jackson. She is survived by her husband of over 72 years, Grady Allison Mitchell; sons, Ronnie (Ann) Mitchell, Donnie (Paulette) Mitchell, and Johnnie (Lisa) Mitchell; brother, Beauford Williams; 9 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild. Funeral service will be Sunday, December 20, 2020, at 2pm in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home with Donnie Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow in Jackson's Chapel Cemetery in Charlotte, Tennessee. Visitation will be Sunday before the service from 1pm to service hour of 2pm. Serving as pallbearers are Matt Mitchell, Eddie Knight, Andy Moore, Wesley Mitchell, Robin Mitchell, and Jason Cathey.
