BROGDON, Louise Armistead Bates went home to be with the Lord on February 25, 2014. She was born June 13, 1923 to the late Maymie and Watt Armistead. She is also preceded in death by her husbands, Johnny Bates and Albert (Al) Brogdon; and a baby brother, Robert Lee Armistead. Louise is survived by her son, Jack (Wanda) Bates; stepson, Al (Maggie) Brogdon; sister, Ruby Nell Holliman (Billy Snoody); devoted grandchildren, Jeff (Melinda Green) Bates, Kristen (Adam) Liles; stepgrandchildren, Mark Brogdon, Heidi (Rick) Brogdon, Inga (Jared) Burbank, and Patrick Brogdon. She had four great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be held on Friday, February 28, 2014, at 10am in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home with Brother Leon Edwards officiating. Brett Kiser will give a eulogy. Interment will be at 2pm in the New Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Elmwood, TN. Serving as pallbearers will be Jeff Bates, Adam Liles, Rickey Thomas, Carl Evans, Steve Johns, Roger and Walter Holliman and Mark Brogdon. Honorary pallbearers are the Wednesday Morning Quilters of the Senior Center of Ashland City. Visitation with the family will be Thursday, February 27th, from 12noon until 8pm and on Friday from 9am until service hour of 10am.
