ADCOX, Lorene Martha, age 92, passed away on Friday, May 16, 2014, at NHC in Springfield, TN. She is preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Sarah Rose Binkley; husband, Hershel Adcox; brothers, Odell, Ted and W.C. Binkley; sisters, Alma (Ed) Bess and Clara (Ed) Reeder. She is survived by her husband, Harold Pentecost; son, James Melvin Adcox (Sandra) of Nashville, TN; daughter, Virginia Balthrop (Jerry) of Watkinsville, GA; grandchildren: Bryant (Crystal) Balthrop of Buford, GA; Chris Balthrop of Watkinsville, GA; Lori Adcox (Ric) Rardin of Maury City, TN; Christy (Michael) Stewart of Collierville, TN; great-grandchildren, Jessica Dry Rardin, Dalton Dry Rardin, Melissa Rardin, James Michael Stewart, and Elizabeth Stewart; stepchildren, Candi Crow, Amy Banes, Shelley DeLoach, Dean Pentecost and Derek Pentecost. Lorene worked at Acme Boot, cooked for the Girl Scouts and East Cheatham Elementary School. She loved to collect Bibles (of which she had over 100 in her collection) go to yard sales, visit the sick, eat breakfast at Hardees with her husband and friends, and of course, cook for her friends and family when she was able. A memorial service was held on Monday, May 19, 2014, at 11am in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home.
