BESS, Linda Coleman, age 69, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2015, following a long illness and complications from a stroke. She is preceded in death by her father, George Coleman; mother, Mae Belle Agee Coleman, and a brother, Jerry Coleman. She is survived by her spouse of 51 years, Melvin Windle Bess; sons, Ronald (Bridgett) Bess and Donald Bess; daughter, Jackie (Duane) O'Keefe; grandchildren, Daulton Bess, Kinsley and Abby O'Keefe; a brother, Ricky Lee Coleman; half-brother, Randy Coleman; step-sister, Darla Coleman and a number of nieces and nephews who cherished her. Linda's kind and generous heart touched all those who knew her. She retired from South Central Bell Phone Company after 30 years of service. After retirement, she and Windle were devoted foster parents to numerous children. She served as a member and past Treasurer of Friends of the Center at the Senior Center in Ashland City. She was a member of Friendship Free Will Baptist Church in Ashland City, TN. Calling hours at Cheatham County Funeral Home on Sunday, March 15, 2015, from 4pm to 8pm and Monday, March 16th, from 9am until 11am. A celebration of Linda's life will be held at the funeral home on Monday, March 16th at 11am with Reverend Cecil Boswell officiating. Interment will follow in the Friendship FWB Church Cemetery.
