LAURA LEE NEWLAND, age 60, passed away on Saturday, November 4, 2017. Laura was born in Detroit, Michigan, on March 15, 1957, to Tex and Liz Nelson Newland. She was a member of the Cheatham County High School Class of 1975. Laura formerly worked for Steele Saddle Tree and McDonald's in Ashland City. She is survived by her parents, Tex and Liz Newland; brother, Preston (Shelli) Newland; nephews: Travis (Kristie) Newland and Trent Newland; great-nieces, Kailey and Cheyenne; aunt, Matilda "Tillie" Jones of St. Clair, MI; and lifetime friend, Jane Steele. Funeral service will be Tuesday, November 7, 2017, at 2pm in the chapel with Reverend Penny Kirby Stratton officiating. Burial will follow in Newland Cemetery in Ashland City, Tennessee. Visitation with the family will be Monday, November 6, 2017, from 2pm to 7pm and on Tuesday from 10am until service hour of 2pm.
