NICHOLSON, Kenneth Shaw "Shag", age 80, passed away on July 17, 2015, at Alive Hospice in Nashville, Tennessee. He was born in Neptune, Tennessee, on September 14, 1934, to Ramah Shaw Nicholson and Bertie Stuart Nicholson. He was a member of the Ashland City United Methodist Church, serving as an usher for over 50 years, and a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Korean Conflict. He worked as a manager for thirty years for the Farmer's Mercantile in Ashland City, Tennessee, and worked for over 10 years at Van's Hardware in Pleasant View, Tennessee. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary Ethel Sanders Nicholson; one brother; four sisters; and niece, Donna Nicholson. He is survived by his brother, Bobby Gene Nicholson; special nephews, Nick (Carla) Nicholson and John (Rhonda) Nicholson. Funeral service will be Sunday, July 19, 2015, at 3pm in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home with Brett Kiser and Dr. Tom Binford officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery in Ashland City, Tennessee, with military honors. Visitation with the family will be Saturday, July 18, 2015, from 5pm to 7pm and on Sunday, July 19th from 11am until service hour of 3pm. Serving as pallbearers will be Gerard Nicholson, Nick Nicholson, John Nicholson, Kris Whitsey, Daniel Anderson, Dave Wallace. Honorary pallbearers are Terry Powell and Kenny Curtis.
