KNOX, John "Richard," age 72, passed away May 11, 2012. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents Richard Deerwood and Ollie D. Mosley Knox; son, Rick Knox; brothers, Bo, Jimmy, Buddy and Larry Knox. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Knox; son, Frank (Christy) Knox; daughters, Michelle (Michael) Edgin and Patti Knox; daughter-in-law, Dawn Knox; grandchildren, Tim (Emily Toombs), Tiffany (Jason) Allman, Johnathan Toombs, Deena (Shaun) Lloyd, Brandon Gafford, Taylor (Eric) Kellner, Whitney Knox, Gerry Knox, C.J. Knox, Elizabeth Knox, Alex Knox, Bethany Pierce and Courtney Pierce; great-grandchildren, Aidan, Ashley and Ayla Toombs, Lillian and Rivers Allman, Preston Lloyd, Kammie Knox, and Emma Kellner; sisters, Jean Jackson, Nancy Ward, and Cheryl Poole. Funeral service will be Monday, May 14, 2012, at 1pm in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home with Brother Terry Forrest officiating. Burial will be in Smith-Neptune Cemetery in Ashland City, TN. Pallbearers will be grandsons. Honorary Pallbearers: Earl Hutchens, Tim Binkley, Marvis Boyd, Jim Smith, George Ferrell. Visitation with the family will be Sunday from 1pm to 8pm and on Monday from 9am until funeral hour of 1pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
