John (Jack) B. Fisher, age 79, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 11, 2025. He was born in Tampa, Florida, on July 12, 1945, to the late Robert E. Fisher and Sophie (Sanders) Fisher. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a Vietnam Veteran and was awarded the Silver Star, Bronze Star Medal, and the Prisoner of War Medal. He was a friend to many and will be missed.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Loretta Fisher, his oldest daughter, Diane Gregory, his youngest daughter, Machele Jones (Ted Jones), his sister Barbara Roach (Jim Roach); his seven grandchildren: Drew Gregory, Danielle Swearingen, Dusty Thomas, Theodore Jones, Anthony Jones, Kiah Fisher, and Bryant Fisher; his seven great-grandchildren: Hunter Gregory, Sawyer Swearingen, Wyatt Swearingen, Colson Thomas, Delilah Thomas, Charlotte Thomas, Cooper Jones; and his first cousins: Ms. Martha Ann Johnson, Mrs. Sandra Elder, Mr. Julius Sanders, Mr. A. W. Bloodworth, Jr., Mr. James A. Williams, Mrs. Deanna Hansen, Mrs. Mary Jo Walker, Ms. Deborah Lawson, and Mr. Michael Sanders.
He is preceded in death by his son, John Fisher Jr., his father, Robert E. Fisher, his mother, Sophie Fisher, his older brother, Charles Fisher, and his younger brother, Robert G. Fisher.
Jack's happy place was on the lake, with his wife, fishing from his boat.
Funeral service will be Monday, February 17, 2025, at 6pm in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home. Visitation will be the same day from 3pm until the service hour of 6pm. Burial will be Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at 9am at Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery in Nashville, Tennessee.
