JIM JOHNSTON, age 79, passed away on Tuesday, September 27, 2016, at Skyline Medical Center. Jim was born on March 23, 1937, in Detroit, Michigan, to the late Arthur Johnston and Helen Kirby Johnston. He was a United States Navy Veteran and retired from General Electric. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. He was preceded in death by his parents, his great-grandson, Leland Blain and son-in-law, Bill White. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Barbara Hall Johnston; daughters, Shannon White, Shelly (Scott) Burgan and Leslie (Steve) Hawley; brothers, Robert (Betty) Johnston; sister, Judy (Alec) Partovi; 8 grandchildren, Jessica, Jimmy (Marie), Lauren, Zach, Emilie, Jordan, Cate, and McKenzie; and 2 great-grandchildren, Leighton and Liam. Funeral service will be Saturday, October 1, 2016, at 1pm in the Chapel of Cheatham County Funeral Home with Barry Holt officiating.
